What Is a Housing Concern?
A housing concern is a grievance filed with the RHA Housing Concerns Committee pertaining to the quality of residence life at UIC. It ranges from cafeteria, staffing, or policy problems to dingy lighting, smelly carpeting, or safety concerns.
A housing concern is not a work order.
Work orders are petitions to fix
problems such as holes in the wall, broken lights, busted elevators, squeaky
doors and the like. If the issue is of that nature, please download the workorder
form (below) and turn it in at their office near the RHA office and Rathskellar (also
known as club inferno).
A housing concern represents an ongoing problem or something that seems to reflect a lack of attention or appropriate level of care on the part of the Housing Department.
A housing concern is not a counseling service.
Sorry, but our committee cannot
fix roommate problems, if you haven't already, try talking with them. If
that doesn't work, please talk to your RA. They will point you in the right
direction to get your concerns resolved.
