Move-In Days
Fall 2009
Welcome to UIC Campus Housing! On this page you will find important information about dates and deadlines, as well as information to help you on Move-In Day.
Check-In
The residence halls are scheduled to open on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 (Monday, August 24 is the first day of classes). Please see Where to Check In for more information.
Freshmen
All freshmen should move in Wednesday, August 19 between 9:00am and 4:00pm. The residence life team is planning a five day "resident freshmen orientation" called New Student Days to help freshmen get to know one another as well as become comfortable with their new environment prior to the first day of classes.
Returning, Transfer and Graduate Residents
If you are a returning resident, or newly assigned upperclassman, graduate, or professional student, you must move intor your room between 9:00am Thursday, August 20 and 9:00pm on Sunday, August 23, 2009. If you are planning to arrive AFTER Sunday, August 23, please contact the Housing Office prior to August 19 so that your late arrival will not be mistaken for a change in your housing plans.
What to Bring
To find out more about what you should or should not bring when you come to the halls, visit www.housing.uic.edu/bring.php.
Parking
One-hour parking passes will be available at the area desks. Once the hour has elapsed, please move your vehicle to a parking lot. Your parking pass is good for one free exit from the UIC parking lots designated on the pass. Our Map of UIC Campus and Parking Structures (PDF) highlights (in red) the parking areas mentioned in Where to Check In.
Change of Plans
If you have changed your plans and will not be occupying the room to which you've been assigned, you would be helping out another student by informing us of a change of plans as quickly as possible.
