East Residence Halls: Commons North (CMN) Commons South (CMS), Commons West (CMW), and Courtyard (CTY)

Unloading
UPDATED 8/17/15

Due to Jane Byrne Interchange construction, traffic patterns will be slightly altered for residents moving in on the east side. We offer both "drop and go" zones and "park and unload" zones, both of which are described below, and please see this map.

Drop and Go Zone
This area is for residents with at least one other person to move the car as soon as it is unloaded. Upon arrival, staff will assist in unloading items from vehicle into a cart that will help in transporting your belongings to your room. As soon as the car is unloaded, the resident will check in while the driver will move the car to the designated parking lot.

Drop and Go zones include CMW auto-court for CMW residents, Halsted Street for CMS or CTY residents and the SRC auto court for CMS or CTY residents.

Harrison Field
Park in Harrison field if you prefer a more leisurely unloading experience or if you have more than one cartload of belongings to check in. We will have staff available here as well to assist in unloading items from vehicle into a cart that will transport your belongings to your room.

Directions around the construction zone:

Park in Harrison Field to unload
Arrive to Harrison Street by turning westbound along Harrison from Halsted – this way you can enter the field from two locations along the sidewalk.

Drop and Go Zone for CMW residents – CMW auto-court
Arrive to Harrison traveling eastbound from Racine

Drop and Go Zone for CTY & CMS residents – Halsted Street
Travel eastbound on Harrison and use the right hand lane to turn onto Halsted Street – follow direction of police/parking officials to park in available spot adjacent to the sidewalk or turn into the auto-court midway down the block.  Move-in Crew will be available to assist with unloading and your driver will proceed to park the car in the Halsted Street Parking Structure.

Parking

Wednesday through Saturday, "Harrison Field" ( the green across from the Commons) will be available for parking for check-in. The field is just northwest of the corner of Harrison and Halsted and is best entered by heading west on Harrison Street past Halsted Street.
