East Residence Halls
Parking
The Halsted Street Parking Structure is the nearest parking complex to CMN, CMS, CMW and CTY, and is located at the intersection of Halsted and Taylor. There are two entrances, one on Polk Street and on one Taylor Street. Additional parking may be set up on the green across from the Commons on Harrison during move-in days only.
Commons North (CMN) & Commons South (CMS)
Students assigned to Commons North or Commons South should check-in at the East Area Residence Life Office, located on the 2nd floor of the Student Residence & Commons (SRC) complex. The address is 700 S. Halsted Street. Residence Life staff may be set up at the entrance to SRC to guide you through the check-in process.
Commons West (CMW) & Courtyard (CTY)
Students assigned to either Commons West or Courtyard will check in at their respective residences. Commons West’s address is 901 W. Harrison Street. Courtyard is on the corner of Harrison and Halsted, between Commons West and Commons North.
West Residence Halls
Single Student Residence (SSR), Polk Street Residence (PSR) & Student Residence Hall (SRH)
Students assigned to one of the three residence halls on the West Side of campus should check-in at the West Area Residence Life Office, located on the ground floor of PSR. The address is 1933 West Polk Street.
The Wood Street Parking Structure is the nearest parking complex to these residences, and is location on Wood Street between Grenshaw and Taylor Streets.
South Residence Halls
James Stukel Towers (JST)
For parking, you will be able to park at the Maxwell Street Parking Structure (which you can enter from Maxwell Street, off of Halsted Street). Your parking pass will allow one complimentary exit from the parking structure.
JST’s address is 718 W. Rochford Street, Chicago, IL 60607. This is a brand-new street, and isn’t in the databases of Mapquest or Google Maps yet. To get directions, please search for the intersection of Halsted and Roosevelt or the address of TBH (below). Rochford is off of Halsted, on its east side, across from Thomas Beckham Hall and between Roosevelt Road and Maxwell Street.
Thomas Beckham Hall (TBH)
Thomas Beckham Hall Residents should check in at the TBH front desk.
For parking, you will be able to park on a small side street that runs parallel to Halsted to the west called Newberry Street, which you can enter from Roosevelt Street. After you have unloaded your belongings, we ask that you move your car to the Maxwell Street Parking Structure (which you can enter from Maxwell Street, off of Halsted Street). Your parking pass will allow one complimentary exit from the parking structure.
TBH’s address is 1250 S. Halsted Street, Chicago, IL 60607 and phone number is: 312-355-6100.
Marie Robinson Hall (MRH)
Residents should check in at the MRH front desk.
For parking, you will be able to park in the auto court on Maxwell Street to the west of Halsted Street. After you have unloaded your belongings, we ask you to move your car to the Maxwell Street Parking Structure (which you can enter from Maxwell Street, off of Halsted Street) to allow others to park. Your parking pass will allow one complimentary exit from the parking structure.
