Introducing ResPhone
The UIC Link Card system has been replaced with a new system called
"ResPhone".
When you press "8" on any telephone in the residence
halls, you will be routed to the new system. There will be a message
on the new system alerting you to the fact that the UIC Link Card
system has been phased out and that you should visit resphone.uic.edu
to set up your new account and a 10 digit password.
Once your account has been set up you will be billed a $2 per month
service charge (just like the old UIC Link system), but only during
the semester when class is in session. Each resphone account will
then be disabled at the end of each semester, and will only be reactivated
after it has been initiated by the student. No more infinite $2
per month charges!
Once you've created your account, you will be able to pick up the
residence hall phone, press "8", and input your 10 digit
password. You will then be prompted to enter in the phone number
you wish to dial in the format of:
1 + area code + 7 digit number
(example) 1+312+4555555
You will be able to dial any long distance or international number
that you wish and be billed at the same rate you were being charged
for the UIC Link card calls.
