Housing Phone Service
This is a new program; telephones will be distributed to rooms during the Fall 2009 semester.
Setting Up SoftPhone
Step 1
Go to http://softphone.uic.edu/.
Step 2
Login by entering your NetID and common password.
Step 3
Once you are logged in, click the hyperlink labeled Account Creation Page.
Step 4
From within the New Accounts section, select SoftPhone and click Create Account.
Step 5
Create a new SoftPhone account password, containing 7 numerical digits.
Step 6
Your SoftPhone account has now been created, and you may be reached at the number listed.
Step 7
To have your SoftPhone number ring additional numbers, such as your cell phone, select SoftPhone Options.
Step 8
Under SoftPhone Options, enter the number you would like your SoftPhone number to rung, and click Add New Number.
Step 9
To remove the number from ringing both your SoftPhone telephone and any additional numbers, select the delete option next to the number.
