South Residence Halls

James Stukel Towers (JST)

The four towers of James Stukel Towers (JST), our newest residence hall, house 740 undergraduate students in 4-,5- or 8-person suites. Each suite shares living space and bathrooms with a mix of single and double rooms. Every two floors are connected by a lounge with floor-to-ceiling windows. The strong community development residence life model is intended to provide coordination and support for a number of academic-related programs and living areas. Each of the Towers offer a penthouse lounge/piano room. JST provides a full-service dining hall for residents, computer labs, meeting and seminar rooms, student organization offices, and a 150-seat auditorium for special events. JST also accommodates two Faculty Members in Residence and two Campus Housing professional staff members, as well as a Visiting Scholar apartment. The convenient location on the corner of Roosevelt Road and Halsted Street is adjacent to the UIC Forum, a facility that seats 3,000 special programs, 1,000 for banquets, and provides a variety of meeting and conference facilities.
