South Residence Halls

James Stukel Towers (JST)

The four towers of James Stukel Towers (JST), our newest residence hall, house 740 undergraduate students in 4-,5- or 8-person suites. Each suite shares living space and bathrooms with a mix of single and double rooms. Every two floors are connected by a lounge with floor-to-ceiling windows. The strong community development residence life model is intended to provide coordination and support for a number of academic-related programs and living areas. Each of the Towers offer a penthouse lounge/piano room. JST provides a full-service dining hall for residents, computer labs, meeting and seminar rooms, student organization offices, and a 150-seat auditorium for special events. JST also accommodates three Faculty Members in Residence and two Campus Housing professional staff members. The convenient location on the corner of Roosevelt Road and Halsted Street is adjacent to the UIC Forum, a facility that seats 3,000 special programs, 1,000 for banquets, and provides a variety of meeting and conference facilities.
