Broken/Damaged Cable & Channel Outages
If you already went through the troubleshooting techniques and your cable still doesn’t work, you can report your issue to building services.
To report an issue, please fill out a work order.
Possible issues include:
- Fuzzy cable
- Damaged cable jack
- Cable not functioning
- Terminator on cable jack (What’s a terminator?)
When filling out a work order, it is also helpful to check if the following are true:
- My TV is set to CABLE TV (not antenna).
- My tuner was auto programmed to run through channels.
- My TV works fine in other rooms.
- There is no terminator on my cable jack.
Channel Outages
Please do not fill out a work order for channel outages.
- If there is a “DISH TV” logo in place of a channel, please let your RD know.
- If there is a simultaneous disappearance of many or all channels, and it is affecting more than just your room, please let your RD know.
Satellite and Headend technical malfunctions resulting in temporary channel outages or temporary disruption of service seldom occur. Campus Housing guarantees to have any major outages resolved in an appropriate amount of time. Credits for prolonged outages will be at the discretion of the Director of Housing.
