City Ambassadors Program
Are you an incoming freshmen? Are you excited about living downtown?
Campus Housing is inviting a small number of incoming UIC freshmen to come in August before they move in. This year, City Ambassadors will stay in the Polk Street Residence from Sunday, August 2 to Wednesday, August 5. During these 3 days, students explore the city and learn how to plan events in the city for their peers. This group becomes what we call the City Ambassador team.
Students specialize in types of city attractions (museums, shopping, music, theater, art) and plan events for their floor after the year starts!
In addition, City Ambassadors will be able to participate in Project: LEAD, an application-only freshmen leadership training experience. Learn more about Project: LEAD here.
If you're interested in exploring the city and leading your peers around town throughout the school year, email tours@housing.uic.edu for more information! Or, you can download the City Ambassador application (Microsoft Word .doc).
Events will include:
- Eating out in the city
- Seeing a show downtown
- Visiting and touring various parts of the city
- Learning how to get your events paid for by Campus Housing all year long!
- Sound cool? Email tours@housing.uic.edu to find out how to get involved!
